We maintain close partnerships with these organizations, represented through the Indigenous Tobacco Partnership Table at Ontario Health:

  • Indigenous Services Canada, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch
    Indigenous Services Canada works with First Nations, Inuit, other federal departments and provincial and territorial partners to support healthy First Nations and Inuit individuals, families and communities.
  • Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care
    The Ministry of Health is helping people stay healthy, delivering high-quality care when they need it and protecting the health system for future generations. The Ministry of Long-Term Care works to ensure Ontarians receive access to the quality long-term care they deserve, in a safe, home-like environment when and where they need it.
  • Canadian Cancer Society
    The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.
  • Diabetes Canada
    Diabetes Canada leads the fight by preventing the onset and consequences of diabetes, helping those affected live healthy lives and working to discover a cure.
  • Heart and Stroke Foundation
    The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s mission is to prevent disease, save lives and promote recovery.
  • Ontario Tobacco Research Unit
    The Ontario Tobacco Research Unit is an Ontario-based research network that is recognized as a Canadian leader in tobacco control research, monitoring and evaluation, teaching and training and as a respected source of science-based information on tobacco control.
  • Tobacco Control Area Networks
    The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care funds 7 regional Tobacco Control Area Networks that range in size from 1 to 9 public health departments. These networks facilitate coordination at the local and regional levels, ensure the needs of public health departments are met and maximize the effective use of limited resources. For further information, please contact the local Tobacco Control Area Network coordinator in your area.
  • Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
    The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world's leading research centres in the areas of addiction and mental health. It combines clinical care, research, education, policy development and health promotion to help transform the lives of people affected by mental health and addiction issues.
  • Right to Play
    Right to Play is a global organization that uses the transformative power of play to educate and empower children facing adversity. Through sports and games, Right to Play helps children build essential life skills and better futures, while driving social change in their communities with lasting impact.
  • ReachUp
    ReachUp Ultimate is a registered non-profit organization engaging Indigenous children and youth in active, healthy living through the sport of Ultimate. Created by a group of committed volunteer coaches, ReachUp travels to communities across Ontario to teach Ultimate. Based on a set of principles called Spirit of the Game, Ultimate reinforces the Seven Sacred Teachings of love, respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility and truth.
  • Telehealth Ontario
    Telehealth Ontario is a free, confidential service you can call to get health advice or information. A Registered Nurse will take your call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Assistance is available in more than 300 languages.
  • Talk Tobacco
    Talk Tobacco is a free confidential program offering culturally appropriate support and information about quitting smoking, vaping and commercial tobacco use to First Nations, Inuit, Métis and urban Indigenous communities.
  • Talk4Healing
    Talk4Healing is a culturally grounded, fully confidential helpline for Indigenous women, available in 14 languages across Ontario.
  • Lung Health Foundation
    The Lung Health Foundation is dedicated to ending gaps in the prevention, diagnosis and care of lung disease in Canada. They invest in the future by driving groundbreaking research, and give patients and their families the programs and support they need today.
  • Ontario Health Indigenous Navigators
    Indigenous Navigators provide support and advocacy for First Nations, Inuit, Métis and urban Indigenous patients and families by:
    • facilitating and coordinating access to cancer services for palliative and supportive care
    • addressing cultural and spiritual needs
    • networking with Indigenous and non-Indigenous partners to make the cancer journey a culturally safe experience
  • Aboriginal Health Access Centres
    Aboriginal Health Access Centres are Aboriginal community-led, primary healthcare organizations. They provide a combination of traditional healing, primary care, cultural programs, health promotion programs, community development initiatives, and social support services to First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities. There are 10 Aboriginal Health Access Centres in Ontario, providing services both on-reserve and off-reserve, in urban, rural and northern locations.
  • Health Canada
    Health Canada is responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health. It ensures that high-quality health services are accessible, and works to reduce health risks.
